Young Entrepreneurs Gather in Edinburgh for Inspiring Tech Challenge
Edinburgh, Scotland – Last week, the Bright Red Triangle (BRT) at Edinburgh Napier University hosted another dynamic installment of the Academic Program for Entrepreneurship (APE) Workshop. This annual event brought together entrepreneurial talents for a tech design challenge aimed at enhancing life in Edinburgh for residents and tourists alike.
The workshop emphasized innovative problem-solving and cross-cultural collaboration, a cornerstone of APE’s international approach. German APE participants teamed up with Scottish students to explore Edinburgh, identify local challenges, and create forward-thinking tech solutions. Through design thinking and lean startup sessions, participants turned their ideas into prototypes, capping the week with engaging teaser videos showcasing their projects.
Moritz Hoffman, Head of Ecosystem Development at the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE), highlighted the global focus of the program. “Thinking outside the box also means exchanging ideas with people from other cultures. These workshops have so far taken place in Edinburgh for Product Design, Barcelona for Service Design, and in Bordeaux on Cultural Entrepreneurship,” he explained.
The week wasn’t just about innovation but also community and inspiration. Participants met with local entrepreneurs to hear their success stories, drawing lessons and motivation for their own ventures.
Established in 2008 by SCE at the HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, APE is one of Europe’s leading programs for entrepreneurship, innovation, and design thinking. Its mission is to equip participants with entrepreneurial tools, foster innovation, and broaden career possibilities. With opportunities like the APE International Bootcamp in Munich and workshops abroad, the program attracts young entrepreneurs eager for global networking and hands-on experience.
For these budding innovators, the Edinburgh workshop was more than just a challenge—it was a chance to push boundaries, connect with diverse minds, and make a tangible impact.
