Shaping the Future of Entrepreneurship Education: Highlights from the 3E Conference 2025
Munich, May 2025 — What does it take to redefine entrepreneurship education for a world in flux? The 3E Conference 2025, held in Munich under the theme "Responsible, Systemic, Democratic – New Trajectories in Entrepreneurship Education", offered refreshing answers to this question.
Hosted by SCE and Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, this year's conference brought together a vibrant mix of educators, researchers, students, and ecosystem builders from across Europe. From sunrise yoga sessions to deep academic debates and late-night exchanges, the event embodied the very values it sought to promote: responsibility, reflection, and real-world impact.
🔍 Research with Purpose
The conference kicked off with inspiring words from Prof. Dr. Martin Leitner (HM), Prof. Dr. Klaus Kreulich (HM), Prof. Dr. Klaus Sailer (SCE & HM), Prof. Dr. Agnieszka Kurczewska (President of ECSB), and Dr. Tobias Haaf (Bavarian Ministry of Science and Culture). “Education is the key to develop critical minds and responsible citizens”, said Dr. Tobias Haaf. Prof. Dr. Agnieszka Kurczewska motivated participants to “take this event as an opportunity full of inspiration, new ideas and collaborations.”
Over 40 papers and posters challenged traditional educational models, exploring hope-driven pedagogies, ethics in innovation, mental health in entrepreneurship, and systems thinking. Two standout Plenary Sessions spotlighted the 3E Catalyst nominees, whose groundbreaking research emphasized the urgent need for democratized and purpose-led entrepreneurship education.
💬 Conversations That Matter
The informal spaces were just as energizing. The poster sessions turned coffee breaks into moments of innovative insights. Whether discussing sustainability or team dynamics, participants were united by a common mission: equipping the next generation of changemakers.
The evening culminated in a Gala Dinner at Bamberger Haus, where Karin Berglund and Karen Verduijn were honored with the European Entrepreneurship Education Award 2025 for their visionary contributions to the field.
🌍 Why It Matters
In a time when global challenges demand more than business-as-usual thinking, this year’s 3E Conference served as a timely call for entrepreneurial education that is inclusive, socially conscious, and systemically aware.
Founders are building the future and their education is their foundation. The 3E Conference showed that entrepreneurial learning must evolve , not only to teach how to launch a business, but also how to lead with values, scale sustainable solutions, and navigate complexity with care.
As the European entrepreneurship ecosystem grows, conferences like 3E are shaping the leaders we need for tomorrow. And if this year's energy is anything to go by, the future is in good hands.
